Privacy Policy
Your recordings never leave your device, and there is no account. The app counts anonymous usage events so we can see how it is used and make it better. Those events never include your audio, your video, or anything that identifies you.
The rest of this page explains what that means in practice and covers the few things that involve someone other than us.
Your audio and video
All noise removal happens on your iPhone, using a model that ships inside the app. Files you open, record, or save are read and written on your device only. Your audio and video are never uploaded to us or to anyone else, and noise removal works with no network connection at all.
Temporary copies made while a file is being processed are written to the app's own storage area and removed by the system. Saving or sharing a result is always something you start, and it goes wherever you choose to send it.
Permissions the app asks for
- Microphone: only if you record inside the app. The recording is stored on your device.
- Camera: only if you record video inside the app.
- Photos: to let you pick a video to clean up, and to save a result back if you ask for that.
Each is requested at the moment you first use the feature, and you can turn any of them off later in iOS Settings. Declining one only disables that feature.
Analytics
The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to count anonymous usage events, for example that a file was opened, a preview was played, the upgrade screen was shown, or a file was saved. Along with each event it records coarse details such as the type of file (audio or video), the clip length in whole seconds, and the noise reduction strength chosen. It never records file names, file contents, your audio or video, or your location.
Events are linked to a random identifier that Firebase creates for this installation of the app. It is not linked to your name, your email, or your Apple Account, and it is replaced if you delete and reinstall the app. We use this data only to understand how the app is used and to improve it. Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months and then deleted. Google processes it under its own policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Tracking and advertising
There is none. The app does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), does not track you across other companies' apps or websites, shows no ads, and never asks for tracking permission. Ad personalization is turned off, and analytics data is not shared with Google for advertising or for improving Google's own products. The app contains no crash-reporting service.
Purchases
Buying Pro is handled by Apple. We never see your payment details.
To keep track of whether a purchase is active, the app uses RevenueCat, which processes the purchase receipt Apple issues and a randomly generated identifier for your installation. That identifier is not linked to your name, your email, or your Apple Account, and no audio or video is ever involved. RevenueCat also receives the Firebase installation identifier described above and passes purchase events (such as a purchase, a renewal, or a refund) to Google Analytics for Firebase, so purchases can be counted together with app usage. If you arrived from an Apple Search Ads campaign, RevenueCat receives the campaign attribution Apple provides for it; this does not require tracking permission and does not identify you. RevenueCat's own policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy.
Apple may also provide us with the aggregate sales and download figures every developer receives. These describe the app, not individual people.
Children
The app is rated 4+ and is safe for any age. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the anonymous usage events described above contain nothing that identifies a child.
Your rights
Regulations such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you the right to see, correct, or delete the personal data a company holds about you. Usage events are anonymous and not linked to you, so there is nothing we can look up by your name or email. Deleting the app removes its installation identifiers and everything it stored on your device. If you have a question about your data, write to us and we will help.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will appear here with a new date. If a future version of the app starts collecting anything beyond what is described here, that will be said plainly here and in the App Store listing before it ships.
