Keksball — Privacy Policy

Last updated 5 September 2026

Keksball has no accounts. You are never asked for an email address, a phone number, or a password, and there is nothing to sign in to. What follows is everything the game sends anywhere, and why.

What you type

You choose a display name. It is stored on your device and sent to the other players in any room you join, so they can see who is who. Names are checked against a word filter before they are shown, and any player can block another, which hides that player's name locally.

Hosting or joining a room

Multiplayer is peer to peer: once a match starts, the players' devices talk to each other directly and no server of ours is involved. To make that possible, two things are published to our room directory (hosted on Supabase, in the EU) while a room is open:

A joining player publishes its own network address in the same way, so the host can answer. These rows are deleted when the room closes, and expire on their own if a room stops reporting in.

Other players in your room can see your IP address. This is inherent to playing directly rather than through a relay, and it is the reason the game is fast. If you would rather not share it, do not join public rooms.

To learn its own public address, the game asks a public STUN server — Google or Cloudflare — which is a single small packet containing no personal data.

What is counted

The game reports a few counts to Firebase Analytics, by Google: that a match started and on which pitch, that it finished or was left early and how long it lasted, and that the subscription screen was opened. Firebase keeps its own identifier for your installation of the app. Your name, the room's code, and anything you typed are never sent.

There is no advertising, nothing is sold or shared with anyone, and no profile of you is built for any purpose beyond those counts. Match traffic goes only between the players in the room.

Buying Keksball Pro

Payment is handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details. Whether your subscription is active is checked through RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous identifier for your installation and the purchase information Apple provides. It does not receive your name or anything you typed into the game. RevenueCat's own policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy.

What stays on your device

Your name, the mark, ring and goal sound you chose, your control preference, your block list, and the date your subscription runs to are stored on your device only. Deleting the app deletes them.

Children

Keksball is not directed at children under 13. Because names you choose are shown to other players, and because playing directly reveals your IP address to them, we do not knowingly collect anything from children under 13.
